“You’re looking for a moment when you feel you’re as close to the soul as possible…that’s what good design is.”

Come February, Netflix will launch its original documentary series Abstract: The Art of Design – an exploration into the creative processes of established movers and shakers across various creative fields.

The show stars eight of the industry’s most imaginative thinkers: Nike shoe designer Tinker Hatfield; illustrator Christoph Niemann; architect Bjarke Ingels; stage designer Es Devlin; interior designer Ilse Crawford; graphic designer Paula Scher; photographer Platon; automobile designer Ralph Gilles.

“If we’ve done it right, ‘Abstract’ will help you understand the future by seeing the intent behind the objects that surround us—and the beauty in the decisions that led to them,” explained Scott Dadich, creator and editor-in-chief of WIRED who acts as executive producer for the series.
